The most complete dream interpretation
In the last issue, we mentioned that different dreams have different intentions and dream interpretations are different. Different intentions symbolize people’s different emotional states. If you are interested, you can check out the previous article. In fact, people often say that dreams are a reflection of reality, and dreams can predict a person’s recent state.
For example, dreaming about falling from a height indicates a desire for care, while dreaming about being chased indicates great pressure.
But seriously, do the things that appear in dreams have any special meaning? Why do some people feel that they have seen a certain scene in a dream? Don’t worry, let’s get into this issue of dream interpretation.
Why do I dream?
First of all, we must first understand a question, which is why do we dream?
In fact, there is no answer to this question, and scientists have not figured out why. However, it is not that brain scientists have not studied anything. Modern brain scientists believe that the cause of dreams may be due to the following reasons:
- A by-product produced by the brain as it clears away memories generated during the day.
- The meaningless results of random brain waves during sleep.
- Cartoons played to prevent people from getting too bored while sleeping.
However, a 1977 study also found that sometimes the reason why we dream is actually the brain interpreting the body after being stimulated by the outside world.
Therefore, dreaming seems to have the functions of “healing trauma”, “integrating memories” and “helping thinking”, but it is far-fetched to list this as “the reason why we dream”. So is the dream interpretation really unfounded?
Why do some people never dream?
Do people who never dream really exist? Don’t they need dream interpretation? One fact is: everyone dreams every day after falling asleep. It’s just that some people don’t remember having dreams, and some people remember.
So why do people never remember those dreams? There are currently three opinions in the industry.
The first reason
The first theory is that during deep sleep, the memory function of the brain is “turned off” as well as the motor function. Only when the brain function gradually recovers when you are about to wake up can the dream be “remembered”. But there are also people who suddenly remember the intention in their dreams during the day, so that they can perform dream interpretation.
The second reason
The second theory is that our dreams are stored in memory, but generally there is no way to “get” them out. We can only occasionally “suddenly remember” the dreams we have had.
The third reason
There is also a theory that dreams are a combination of existing memories in the brain, just like showing a movie through a kaleidoscope, and the “film” has already been stored in the brain.
Some people worry: I never remember what dreams I have had, or even that I have had a dream. Is this normal? Don’t worry, this is perfectly normal. If you remember every dream, how can you tell reality from a dream?
Why do you think “I dreamed of this”?
Has anyone ever had such an experience? When you are talking to someone, suddenly, your brain seems to be shocked. At that moment, you will feel that the scenes and characters in front of you are particularly familiar, as if you are in a strange place. Where have I seen it? I kept thinking about it and looking for answers. While we were chatting, I suddenly thought, “I have seen this scene in my dream”!
This phenomenon has a special French name to describe it, called “Déjà-vu”, which literally means “déjà vu”. Many people regard this symptom as “past life memory“.
But the reality is that when abnormal discharges in the brain affect an area called the “olfactory cortex”, the patient will experience a “sense of déjà vu.” This kind of abnormal discharge not only occurs in epilepsy patients, but also in most normal people, similar “brain short circuit” phenomenon will occur. Only people with epilepsy will be clearly affected, but ordinary people will not. This is why most people think that dream interpretation can predict the future!
Why can feelings control dreams?
Some people often say that they can control their dreams. They were dreaming, but suddenly they felt that they were in a dream, and they relied on their own consciousness to control the direction of the dream.
In fact, this is not controlling dreams, but “lucid dreaming”. As early as 1913, scientists had already proposed the concept of “lucid dreaming”.
However, controlling dreams and lucid dreams are completely different things. People have the ability to control dreams even if they are not aware that they are dreaming. Therefore, dream interpretation is mostly based on the intention in the dream rather than the development of the dream.
Do dreams really predict the future?
In fact, after some of the above analysis, we probably understand that it is still unknown how dreams are produced, but what we can be sure of is that what we experience in real life will affect our thinking at night, thus producing dreams.
However, our own consciousness cannot interfere with the development of dreams, so we are relatively certain that dreams are a response to people’s actual psychological state and emotions. If you are usually very anxious and insecure, you may have some not-so-good dreams.
Is dream interpretation based on evidence?
What kind of dreams we have has a lot to do with our own emotional state, and emotions are easy to hide and difficult to be discovered. Sometimes even we may not know whether our emotional state is positive or not. In this case, dreams can well reflect people’s psychological state.
This is why there is hypnosis therapy in psychology. Human consciousness cannot interfere with the development of dreams. In this case, human consciousness can express freely, and psychiatrists can naturally develop your psychological problems.
If you feel confused and often have strange dreams, then understanding some dream interpretation may help you find a good way to improve your condition.
Dreams are diverse and bizarre. Have you experienced any of the above dream experiences? After understanding these truths, hurry up and have a sweet dream. If you want to know more about dream interpretation, let me know in the comment area!
